Video Conversion FAQ

How much is video conversion?

Please refer to the Application Form (which also includes prices) on our Video Conversion page.

Can I drop off my tapes?

As we do not run a retail storefront, we prefer that you use our mail-in system.

We have a secure GPO box in Brisbane CBD and since we started offering conversion services in 2002, the postal system has not lost or misplaced any tape sent in to us. For added security, you may wish to use Registered Post.

That said, if you prefer to drop them off, we are available for dropoffs by appointment after-hours. Please contact us for further information.

Do you have an express service?

Yes we do – please refer to the Application Form (on our Video Conversion page) for pricing and timeframes.

What tape formats can you convert to DVD or USB?

Quite a few, actually – please refer to the “What tape do I have?” section on our Video Conversion page for more information.

Can you do custom edits?

Yes we can – please contact us for pricing, as it’ll be specific to your requirements. We also have a Video Editing page that might be of interest.

Can you convert to other formats?

We can convert to a number of digital formats – including .AVI, .MOV and other common / web formats.

Can you convert store-bought tapes?

According to current copyright laws (at the time of writing), you are allowed to make one copy for your own backup purposes – if you own the original video tape.

However, should the tape employ its own copy protection system (e.g. Macrovision), then our system is generally physically be unable to make a copy. We can certainly try it for you, though!

Do I get my tapes back afterwards?

Absolutely – although from time to time, we have had clients ask us not to return them since they had no way of playing them anyway. It’s up to you!

Can you repair tapes?

Occasionally. If the physical magnetic tape has ‘snapped’. then we will often attempt a repair at a small additional fee. However, it depends on the amount of damage and where the break is – so each tape is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How does payment work?

Once we receive your tapes, we’ll start converting them and email you an invoice. Once the conversion is finished, and the invoice is paid, your items will be dispatched.

Hire FAQ

What items do you have available for hire?

Lazers, smoke machines, mixing consoles, confetti cannons, 2-way radio’s, media servers and plenty more! Please refer to our hire item listing for details.

Who can hire from you?

It depends on the item, to be honest. Most items are available for anyone to hire, but due to the nature of some items (such as our more powerful lazers), they may only be hired to stage technicians or other hire companies looking to fulfil larger orders. Contact us for more details.

What do I need for a hire?

Most items require a deposit upfront, as well as full payment of the hire invoice. The deposit is then returned to you upon return of the item – so long as it was returned on time, and in the same condition it left us with all accompanying parts.

We also require a copy of the hirer’s Government-issued ID. Orders, or items, worth over $5,000 may also have additional requirements.

All hired are subject to our standard terms & conditions and item availability.

What confetti colours do you have?

Colours usually in stock include: Black, blue, fluro (orange, pink, yellow), gold, green, red hearts, pink, purple, red, red rose petals, silver …as well as custom mixes of any of the above.

How does payment work?

Payment for hire items is upfront, with a deposit charged that is refunded upon return of any hired items in their original, working condition.

Existing clients are offered payment terms ranging from 7 – 21 days, depending on their time with us.
